last year, in august i believe, i had a ruggie who decided to go naked! he was also very lethargic and dead. he did not have the death smell though, but he wouldn't move at all, so i thought he was dead. I put him a bag in the trash, because it was night and i didn't wanna go out in the dark.
well, a few hours later i woke up to a bunch of rustling noises coming from the garbage and it took me 30 minutes to figure out what it was. HE WAS ALIVE!!! i think it was like 3 am by then.
So, i got up and tried to put him in a shell, put him in a cup with some shellss, but he just wasn't having any of it.
he remained lethargic and continued to be less active. i got him to cling to my pointer finger and just chill there for literally over 15 hours! i thought he may be dehydrated, so i got a cup of fresh water and salt water and dunk him in it or dropped a few water droplets on him every 15 minutes or so. i then brang him to work with me. after i got home, i finally was able to stuff him in a shell. and poked at him until he would just stay in there. i put him back in the tank and watched him over night and he stayed in his shell! i was such a proud parent to have gotten through that ordeal with my little guy. he is still alive today and doing fine and has since molted twice!
I think some of the things i did are not recommended, but they worked for me and i got my little guy still!
